Words by University Gallery Curator, Gillean Shaw.

I am delighted to have acquired your artwork Boundless 2019 for the University of Newcastle’s Art

Collection that was commissioned by UON Alumni & Philanthropy for the 2019 Alumni Awards.

The University’s collection continues to grow with over 2,000 artworks and artefacts and a focus on acquiring works that reflect artistic production from our region and its people, our staff and our students. The collection also continues to focus on national contemporary artists who intersect with our community and artists from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, which are collected through donations and featured exhibitions held in collaboration with our Wollotuka Institute.

This dynamic work will add to a collection that is enjoyed by students, staff and the wider community, adding to the rich culture of the University and the region.
