Warehouse Facade Mural. Newcastle.

Hudson Street Hum.

Commissioned abstract mural for Hudson Street Hum warehouse facade in Newcastle that references the environment of a once bustling street of various trades that used a locally sourced material. The timber of the Australian Spotted Gum tree.

The bark of the Australian Spotted Gum was the perfect reference which respects the history of the street and welcomes new beginnings.

This Eucalypt is an extremely valuable pollen producing tree with the Queen Bee bred on spotted gum being vigorous and long-lived.

The word Hum evokes the sense of shared productivity being renewed into the street and links back to Spotted Gum being; a most relevant material to create a perfect hive of activity.
